Doug the draught excluder by Jess at Ginger Twist Studio

Say hello to Doug. I have had the distinct pleasure of knitting this adorable draught excluder, because who doesn’t need a squishy caterpillar with a moustache?!

Actually, this is to help promote Home Energy Scotland, a Scottish Government campaign helping folks find ways to save energy and money when heating their homes. We all know winter can get quite chilly, and a draught excluder definitely helps with keeping the heat in, and that pesky chilly air ooooot! Doug is the charming mascot of this campaign.

I knitted Doug with a selection of West Yorkshire Spinners Aire Valley DK: 2 balls of Blueberry Bonbon, and 1 ball each of Cardamom, Butterscotch, and Orange. This wool is ‘reared, sheared & spun in Britain’ and is available in a wide variety of shades at Ginger Twist Studio. All in all, Doug is an easy knit…and so cute!! Two buttons for eyes and a moustache out of scraps makes Doug a very British caterpillar indeed!

Go on and knit your own Doug! Here’s a link to the free pattern.
