Electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and other low emission vehicles are going further and becoming more affordable. Could 2016 be the year you buy one?
There are now over 2,100 electric vehicles in Scotland and 2014 saw more models purchased than in the previous 3-years combined. 2015 looks like being another record year for sales. With the new Tesla store open in Edinburgh, it's fair to say that ultra low emissions vehicles are coming to Scotland in a big way.
Chargepoints are being installed all over the country
But it's not just high-end sedans like Tesla's current models that are selling more and more each year. Many manufacturers are introducing a complete range of purely electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids to their ranges, at lots of different price points, from Ford to Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault, Citroen, Peugeot, BMW and more.
Added to that is the increasing number of chargepoints popping up in cities and towns around the country. You can find out where your nearest chargepoint is on our chargepoint map. And keep an eye on it, because new ones are being added all the time. Plus, there is the great benefit of installing a charge point at your home to make an electric vehicle even more convenient.
